Kayla Turner

Cardiac Sonographer

Kayla has been a part of the Illawarra Heart Centre team since the practice began in 2015. Working various roles within the practice, she went on to study Cardiac Sonography at Western Sydney University, which she graduated from in 2017.  Kayla is an experienced and highly skilled ASAR accredited cardiac sonographer. She is responsible for  both echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms on a daily basis. 

At the heart of every role that Kayla performs is ensuring patients are always cared for to the highest standards, having created many of the processes and procedures currently in place that ensure these high standards are maintained. She is very personable and always ensures our patients feel comfortable and well looked after during and after their diagnostic tests.

Kayla is a member of the Australian Sonographers Association and also graduated with distinction in Bachelor of Health Science (sport and exercise science) from Western Sydney University in 2015. To ensure a high level of professional development and knowledge of best practice sonography techniques, Kayla continues to attend regular conferences.

Ryan Pooley

Cardiac Sonographer

Ryan began at Illawarra Heart Centre as a holter technician and then went on to become a trainee cardiac sonographer. He was supervised by Dr Brillante with the assistance of Kayla Turner.

 

Since graduating with distinction in Cardiac Sonography at Western Sydney University, Ryan has also been responsible for training holter technician and holter analyst staff. Ryan was also instrumental in the upgrade of our echocardiogram to the 4D GE echocardiogram instrumentation in 2019.

 

An accredited Australian sonographer, Ryan is responsible for both echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms on a daily basis. Ryan’s personable style always ensures our patients feel comfortable and well looked after during and after their diagnostic tests. As well as achieving a Bachelor of Exercise Science with distinction (Wollongong University), Ryan is a member of the Australian Sonographers Association and attends regular conferences to continue his professional development and knowledge of best practice sonography techniques.
